MONTEREY PARK — Asian American Christian Counseling Service (AACCS) celebrated “an afternoon of kindness” at its annual Spring Luncheon on April 27 at Almansor Court in Monterey Park.
It was a celebratory event with more than 170 guests in attendance.
Since 1986, AACCS’ mission has been to provide emotional healing to individuals and families to restore broken relationships, and to offer guidance for personal change and improved interpersonal relationships.
As a non-profit organization, AACCS has served both the Asian American and Christian communities in the greater Los Angeles area as well as Orange County.
The luncheon included the awarding of the Ryo and Jean Komae Scholarships to encourage budding therapists who desire to align their professional identity in mental health by serving the Asian American Christian community.
This year’s scholarship winners were Sung Ah Hong and Angel Wun Ci Lee, both of whom are enrolled in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Fuller Theological Seminary.
