Friends of Little Tokyo Branch Library and the Little Tokyo Branch Library will present their 28th Author Recognition Luncheon on Saturday, June 7, at the library, 203 S. Los Angeles St. (at Second Street) in Little Tokyo.
The honoree is UCLA associate professor Valerie Matsumoto, author of “City Girls: The Nisei Social World in Los Angeles, 1920-1950.” Copies of the book will be available from Heritage Source.
Matsumoto’s fields of interest include Asian American history, 20th century U.S.history, women’s history, and oral history.
Doors open at 11 a.m. Bento lunch at 11:30 a.m. Program at 12:30 p.m.
