SAN LUIS OBISPO — San Luis Obispo Buddhist Temple will hold its Obon Festival on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 1 to 8 p.m. at St. Patrick’s School, 900 W. Branch St. in Arroyo Grande.

The event will feature food, games, taiko drum performance, martial arts demonstrations, bonsai exhibits, Asian crafts, and traditional Japanese dance. Odori begins at 6:30 p.m.

“Once again, the Obon Festival is one of the few occasions where Japanese American cultural arts, foods, and crafts can be shared in our local area,” said the temple’s Obon Committee. “We are looking forward to seeing many of our longtime supporters as well as capturing the attention of many new friends.”
