
East West Players announces its first event celebrating its milestone golden (50th) anniversary, “One Night Only: Fresh Faces, Golden Voices,” introducing a new generation of Asian Pacific Islander entertainers.
The event, which will benefit EWP’s artistic and education programs, will take place Saturday, Aug. 16, at the David Henry Hwang Theatre, Union Center for the Arts, 120 Judge John Aiso St. in Little Tokyo. Hosted bar and dinner in Aratani Courtyard at 6 p.m.; musical performance in theater at 7:30 p.m.; dessert and opportunity drawing in courtyard at 9 p.m.
The show is hosted by Amy Hill and Parvesh Cheena; directed by Marilyn Tokuda, with musical direction by Marc Macalintal; and produced by Snehal Desai. The cast: vocalists Jaime Barcelon, Hajin Cho, Jan Colby, Carissa Dizon, Belle Hengsathorn, Kacey Mayeda, Erika Mariko Olsen, Reuben Uy and Charlotte Mary Wen; dancers Angel Feliciano, Jonathan Kim, Rich Kim, Liezel Marie and Shanling Yang.
Celebrity chef Katie Chin, recently published in O (Oprah Magazine), collaborates with Food Fetish Catering on a unique pan-Asian dining experience al fresco. Special desserts donated by Majestic Caterers.
