The Japan America Society of Southern California is hosting a meet-and-greet with Takuma Sato in conjunction with the 2014 MAVTV 500 IndyCar World Championships at Auto Club Speedway, 9300 Cherry Ave. in Fontana, on Saturday, Aug. 30. Gates open at 4 p.m.

Don’t miss the exciting Indycar season finale featuring the Firestone Indy Lights followed by the MAVTV 500 IndyCar Series under the lights.

Born in Tokyo in 1977, Sato (www.takumasato.com) went from racing push bikes to racing F1 cars in six short years and is Japan’s most successful automobile racing driver. In recent years he has raced for the KV Racing Technology Team, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team, and AJ Foyt Racing, which brought him his first IndyCar win, on the streets of Long Beach last year.

Last day to purchase the following packages is Monday, Aug. 25.

General admission package ($45) includes a ticket to the race (unreserved seats), pit/garage pass, souvenir cheering flag, IndyCar all-driver autograph session in the IndyCar Fan Village from 4 to 5 p.m., and free parking. Children under 12 get in free with paid adult admission (unreserved seats only).

The reserved grandstand ticket package ($75) includes a reserved grandstand ticket to the races, pit/garage pass, souvenir cheering flag, IndyCar all-driver autograph session, and free parking.

Don’t forget to try Sato’s pork chop sandwich — grilled pork topped with cole slaw, wasabi mayonnaise and a sweet hickory barbecue sauce — one of the most popular items on the racers’ menu at Auto Club Speedway.
