BYRON — Karri Jo Murayama is one of five candidates for three seats on the Byron Union School District Board of Trustees in the Nov. 4 election.
Murayama, a former member of the board, is an instructional aide.
Also running are incumbent Jill Marlene Sprenkel, businesswoman/finance manager Diane Stewart, teacher Felicia Schweller, and assistant principal and parent Tania Salinas. Schweller and Salinas are also former board members.
The terms of current Board President Jeffry Sugimoto, Vice President Elaine Landro and Sprenkel expire on Dec. 1. Board members Mark McBride and Betty Sanchez will serve until Dec. 1, 2016.
The district encompasses Excelsior Middle School in Byron and Discovery Bay Elementary and Timber Point Elementary in Discovery Bay.
