Bert Shoji Maeyama, a 38-year-resident of Torrance, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at the age of 84. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, he served in the Army during Korean War then worked at Lockheed Corporation for 35 years. He will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii.
Bert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Grace; daughter, Lynn; son, Neal, and daughter-in-law, Julie; grandchildren, Jocelyn and Jared; and siblings, George Maeyama, Florence Suzuki, Mildred Imada and Amy Habu.
