Funeral services for the late Mrs. Rose Kobata, 92-year-old, York, Utah-born resident of Gardena, who passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2015, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 10 a.m. at Gardena Valley Baptist Church, 1630 West 158th St., Gardena, with Pastor Rodney Tanaka officiating.
She is survived by her loving family: children, Dennis (Jan Tokumaru) Kobata and Frances (Dave) Fujii of California; step-children, JoAnn King of Illinois and Margaret (George) Petersson of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Yoshi Kobata of Illinois, Jonathan (Miki) Fujii of California, Alison (Chris) Merimee of Washington; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Reiko (Harold) Kobata, John Hagio and Joyce (Chisato) Kubo of California, Frank (Lolita) Hagio of Utah and Kathleen (Tak) Ishii of California; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
