Ron Fong took this photo of construction crews demolishing the Señor Fish building Thursday afternoon in Little Tokyo. By evening there was little but rubble left of the building, which once home to the Atomic and Troy Café. In the 1980s, the single-story building was a popular hangout for musicians such as Blondie, the Go-Gos and David Bowie. When the Atomic closed in 1989, the Troy Café, became an important gathering place for young Chicano artists from neighboring East L.A. The building was torn down to make way for the Metro Regional Connector, scheduled to open in 2020. (Photo by Ron Fong)
