A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Fumi (Hiraishi) Yoshizaki, after a long and richly fulfilled life, passed away quietly on January 12, 2015 at the age of 97. She is survived by her daughters: Judy (Shiz) Nakawatase and Elaine (Dean) Kunihiro; sons: Steve Yoshizaki and Wayne (Michael Fatula) Yoshizaki; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Fumi was predeceased by her husband, Tadashi, two sisters, Chiyeko and Miyeko, and brother, Tom.
Fumi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and trusted friend to all in her life. Family always came first with Fumi and was a source of great joy for her.
A private family service was held at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden” on Jan. 31, 2015, with Rev. Chris Fukunaga officiating. The family, at Fumi’s request, asked that no koden, flowers or gifts be sent.
