
The experience of the islands invades Little Tokyo when the beautiful dancers from Hula Halau a Kawika laua ‘o Leinani hit center stage. They’ll be performing on Saturday, March 14, at L.A. Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple (Nishi) in Little Tokyo.
Sponsored by the Nisei Week Hospitality Committee, the luau festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the luau will go to the Nisei Week Hospitality Committee, which will host the visiting courts and guests from Hawaii, San Francisco, and Seattle during the 72nd annual Nisei Week Festival in August.
Authentic Hawaiian cuisine, catered by King’s Hawaiian, will be featured. Opportunity drawing tickets are available now and will be sold up until the evening of the event. First prize is $500, with many other fabulous prizes to win.
Emcee for the evening will be actress and former Nisei Week Queen Tamlyn Tomita.
Luau tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children under 12 years old. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $400. The Nisei Week Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so donations are tax-deductible. Make checks out to the Nisei Week Hospitality Committee. You may purchase tickets at the door. Early arrival is recommended.
