Quilters pose next to this year’s quilt, “Bamboo II,” at the Little Tokyo Branch Library.

This year’s Little Tokyo Library Quilt Show will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Union Church, 401 E. Third St. (at San Pedro Street).

Limited free parking will be available during the show.

The quilters’ raffle quilt, “Bamboo II,” will be showcased, along with lovely quilts created by the members this past year. Boutique items such as Asian-accented T-shirts, decorative wall hangings, kitchen towels, and tote bags will be for sale along with several lap quilts and Asian fabric fat quarters. In addition, a limited selection of beautiful Asian-themed designer clothing and jewelry will be for sale at bargain prices.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at the show for $2 each or 3 for $5. Tickets may also be purchased from any quilter or Friends of the Little Tokyo Library board members. All proceeds from the raffle tickets and quilt show will be used to fund vital library programs and materials not covered in the library’s budget.

The quilters meet on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 10 to 11:30 a.m. They work together on the raffle quilt throughout the year, exchange quilting ideas, and share their latest creations. Anyone interested in joining the group or seeking more details about the quilt show should call (323) 664-0554.
