By GENIE NAKANO
blessed,
I was born in May
the month
when my native land
blooms
spring
unpredictable
sun today
next day rain
let’s walk the path of spring
ahhh, sweet rose
your fragrance
makes me dizzy
as you catch me
on the path
crickets thrum
nights perfumed with jasmine
my bucket list…
to die in spring
while a full moon shines
