Chieko Moritani Tada, 98, a Nisei born in Berkeley, Calif., resident of Los Angeles, and former internee of Amache Relocation Camp during WWII, passed away on Sept. 12, 2017. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Tetsuya “Tets” Tada, and brothers, Yasuhiko (Richard) and Eugene (Iwao) Moritani, and sister Kiyoko Kay (Moritani) Komai.
A loving aunt, she is survived by nephews and nieces: Ralph Yutaka Komai, Karen Megumi Komai (Jack) Margolis, Neil Masaru (JoAnn) Komai, Chris Makoto (Qris Yamashita) Komai, Evan (Iwao) Moritani, Donna Kay (n. Moritani) (Robert) Curtis of Massachusetts, and Neva Moritani. Also survived by many grand-nieces and grand-nephews and other relatives in California and Massachusetts.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 11 a.m. at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” 707 E. Temple Street, Los Angeles, officiated by Reverend Clifford Ishigaki, followed by burial at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Gate 10, “Cherry Blossom Lawn,” 3888 Workman Mill Rd., Whittier, Calif.
