Kenneth Hiroshi Igawa

Kenneth Hiroshi Igawa passed away surrounded by family at his home in Monterey Park, California at 5:32 a.m. on September 11, 2018 at the age of 73.

He is survived by his wife, Keiko, with whom he recently celebrated 40 years of marriage; daughter, Yoko Jennifer Igawa; son, Kenji Igawa; brother, Kiyoshi (Wakiko) Igawa; sister, Margaret Momoyo (James S.) Yasuda; brother-in-law, Takami Shimonaka; many nieces, nephews and relatives; and dog, Ambie. He is predeceased by his parents, Yutaka and Masako Igawa; and sister, Sumiko Shimonaka.

During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He found solace in nature and cherished the time he spent camping and hiking with his wife and family at national parks and forests across the country. He also took pride in following his daughter’s public service and career in government relations, as well as his son’s service as an officer in the United States Navy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Zenshuji Soto Mission, 123 S. Hewitt St. Los Angeles, CA 90012.
