Tadashi Goto
June 30, 1933 – November 8, 2018

Tadashi Goto was born on June 30, 1933 on Maui in Hawai’i, the second youngest of 8 siblings. He played the saxophone in his high school band and in Club Nisei, and worked at the Dole Pineapple Company during the summer. He went to college in Mississippi on a Baptist scholarship and met his future wife, Nettie Ruth. Tad moved to California in 1961 to work at Rockwell International in Downey and married Nettie Ruth in 1963. They were married 52 years until she passed away in 2015. Tad spent over 40 years in the aerospace industry, working on the Mercury, Apollo, and Space Shuttle programs at companies including TRW and Boeing. After almost 50 years as a Downey resident, he moved to Atherton retirement community in Alhambra in 2016 where he enjoyed playing the ukulele, shooting pool and going on outings with his new friends. He loved his cars, gardening, watching football and keeping mail order catalog companies in business.

He is survived by his daughters Stephanie McMahon and her husband Scott who live in Plano, TX; Viki Goto of San Gabriel, CA; grandchildren Collin and Kira McMahon; and granddog, Roxy.

Memorial tributes can be made to the Terasaki Budokan Recreation Center in Little Tokyo or Atherton Baptist Homes.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 2 pm at the Merriam Chapel at Atherton,
214 S. Atlantic Blvd., Alhambra CA 91801, with a reception immediately following. Casual or Aloha attire.
