Ruth Midori Takahashi, 98, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 12, 2021. The beloved matriarch, lovingly referred to as Mom, Grandma, Bachan, Nesan, and Auntie, lived a long, full, and happy life.

Ruth was strong, hard-working, kind, loving, generous, caring, compassionate, and thoughtful … she would do anything for family and touched many people’s lives. She enjoyed spending time with family (especially with her grandkids and great-grandkids); celebrating the holidays (Christmas & New Years Day were her favorite); gardening; getting her hair and nails done each week … and loved her Diet Coke and sweets!

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Tom who passed away in April 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley and son-in-law, Joe; sons, Tom Jr. and Gary; seven grandchildren: Teri, Tracy, Matthew, Jennifer, Thomas, Tyler, and Jason; seven great-grandchildren: Katana & Aurora, Hannah & Kaela, Daniel & Zachary, and Nikolas; siblings, Tsu, Tachi, Jeanne, and Jerry; and many nieces and nephews.

A private Committal and Celebration of Life will be held at Inglewood Park Cemetery at a later date.

Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love that will last many generations. May she rest in peace and remain forever in our hearts.
