Masayuki Nakao, 97, of Rancho Palos Verdes passed away peacefully at his home on January 30, 2024.

Born in Hilo, Hawaii, he was the son of the late Yoki and Ichiro Nakao.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yoshie Matsui; as well as his brother, Tetsuo Nakao; and sisters, Ichiko Imai, Hatsuko Yamashita and Eiko Kuba.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Tokyo, Japan 1945-1946, and worked for the  Department of Defense (DOD) in the Defense Ammunition Center (DAC), retiring with 30 years of service.

He is survived by two daughters, Margaret Elledge and Florence Nakao; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Lauren, Adrian, Jerel; and two great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Grace.

Graveside service will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park on Wednesday, February 21, at 2 p.m.
