GARDENA — The Gardena Orchid Club held its 34th annual Gardena Orchid Show on March 2 at the Ken Nakaoka Community Center.

In addition to blooming plants on display, orchid plants from local growers and vendors were on sale, a repotting demonstration was given and free growing guides and orchid magazines were available.

This was the first Gardena Orchid Show in four years. Started 40 years ago, the club had put its annual shows on pause since the pandemic, out of health safety concerns.

This year’s event was so successful that the plants were largely sold out soon after it opened, despite rainy weather on that day.

The event was co-sponsored by the City of Gardena.
