Paul Imahara died on January 7, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nev., surrounded by family after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Paul is survived by his children, Kathryn Imahara, Roy Imahara, and Anne Alba; his 7 grandchildren; and his 2 great-grandchildren.
He was a Buddhist minister at Los Angeles Higashi Honganji and Newport Beach Temple. Until his death, he continued to lead Buddhism study groups through Zoom with participants throughout the world, including Japan, the Philippines, New York and other places throughout the U.S.
His beloved wife, Kazuko, sadly died in 2007 and he mourned her loss to the end.
Paul was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is missed greatly.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2023, from 2 p.m. at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 505 E. Third St., Los Angeles, CA 90013.
