The Sansei Rocker Band is locked, loaded, and ready to rock ‘n’ roll!
After a series of sold-out concerts last summer at JANM’s Tateuchi Democracy Forum, this talented group is preparing to bring the house down at JACCC’s Aratani Theatre on Saturday, May 11.
“Sansei Rocker: Get Ready, Cuz Here We Come!” continues the saga of the Sansei dance party era in Greater Los Angeles during the late 1960s through the 1970s. Loosely based on Harry Manaka’s book “Chronicles of a Sansei Rocker,” this latest show will take you on a nostalgic trip down memory lane as you revisit the bands, events, and music that helped shape this era.
Three members of the talented Somethin’ Else band are reunited in this latest venture. Royce Jones, Bobby Flores, and Harry Manaka combine their talents to help bring what many consider the “soundtrack of our lives” to the stage.
The show combines music from the dance party era supplemented by short video presentations, narrative storytelling, improvisation, and interaction between the audience and the band.
Tickets will be available to the general public beginning Friday, March 8, at 10 a.m. This is a show you will not want to miss.
