Born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii, Wallace T. Sumimoto passed away on January 25, 2024, in Monterey Park, Calif. He was 90 years old. A private funeral service was held on Friday, March 8, at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden” in Los Angeles.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marion Sumimoto; children, Wendy (Dean) Thomas, and Delan (Leane) and Derek (Kathy) Sumimoto; grandchildren, Vance Thomas, and Jerran, Miles, Kenzie, Lauryn and Sophia Sumimoto; sister, Kazue Kaide of Hawaii; he is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
