Kiyoshi James Izumi, born July 12, 1935, passed away at the age of 88 earlier this year on March 31, 2024, peacefully and at home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Per his request, because of his love of the sea and because he grew up near the beaches of Wakayama, Japan, his ashes were scattered off the coast of California on his birthday, July 12, 2024, in a private ceremony with his immediate family.
He will always hold a place in the hearts of his children, Jane, Karl, and Judy; his two grandchildren, Neal and Nadia; and his two great-grandchildren, August and Inés.
He also leaves behind his sister, Keiko Nakamura; and brother in Japan, Akira Izumi; as well as several cousins, nephews, and nieces.
