Wallace Koichi Sakaki, 86-year old resident of Henderson, Nev., suddenly passed away on July 9, 2024. He was born on September 14, 1937 in Los Angeles, Calif. Executive Order 9066 sent the family to Manzanar internment camp when he was 4 years old. After returning to Los Angeles, he spent most of his formative years in the San Fernando Valley, then resided in the San Gabriel Valley until retiring to Nevada. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving at the Berlin Crisis. 

Wally was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Momi Sakaki; five sisters; daughter, Yvonne Keiko; and survived by his wife, Frances (Nakagawa/Komuro); children, Cary, Kevin, Brandon, and Tamara (Jason Kinoshita); grandsons, Gabriel, Ryden and Kiran; and many other relatives.
