John Kazuo Iwamiya, 84 years old, Alhambra, Calif.-born resident, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Judy and son, Daryl. Survived by his sister, Marion Setsuko Tani; sister-in-law, Christine Kiyo Iwamiya; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family honors his lifelong friendships with Jonathan Claudio, David Lopez, and Shinya Hosono of Hokkaido, Japan.
In lieu of koden, the family requests donations be made in John’s memory to his beloved church, Mission Valley Free Methodist Church, 1211 S. San Gabriel Blvd, San Gabriel, CA 91776.
