Misuye “Mitzi” Yamanaka Toshima, 90 years old, of South Pasadena, Calif., passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025 in Sacramento, Calif. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Toshima; and survived by her daughters, Denise Sheppard of Sacramento, Michelle Toshima (Mack Orsborn) of Seattle, Wash.; son, Michael Toshima (Paula); and 7 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 9:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Altadena, 2775 Lincoln Ave., Altadena, CA 91001. The family wishes that donations be made to Pasadena Nikkei Seniors or Grateful Crane Ensemble in lieu of flowers, per Mitzi’s request.
