Jerry Tondo

By JERRY TONDO

Hello!! My name is Jerry Tondo and I’m going to be 75 years old and have been an actor for over 50 years.

Worked and studied with Asian American Theater, East West Players, Cold Tofu, and the Mark Taper’s Improvisational Theater Project. I’ve also played sports, played the trumpet, went to college, was in the Boy Scouts, was a scoutmaster and a father of an Eagle Scout, daughter is a veterinarian, married Carol, helped raise a family, went to church as a congregant and a leader, and now retired.

I thank God every day for giving me a fulfilling life and I’m trying to give back by sharing these gifts with family, friends and country. One of the ways that I wanted to give back to this great nation was to run for a public office. I felt that that would be the ultimate gift.

As I spent time self-reflecting on this challenge, I realized that I didn’t have enough of the talents and gifts to be a good political leader. I still lacked enough compassion, love, understanding, and above all wisdom to be an effective leader.

I also came to a harsh realization that I am too old to accomplish what is needed. I have lost all my filters and am telling people what I really think whether they want to hear it or not, I get all my words mixed up, my hearing is getting bad (my wife said it was always bad) and when I sit too long, I stand up and feel like I need to pee or fart. I realized that I missed my chance to become a political leader.

My saving grace is that I can still be a good grandfather to my grandson. I was hoping that both Biden and Trump would have made the choice to be grandfathers instead of presidents because they would have been great at it. They still can be.

President Trump … if you choose to react to my cautionary message, please remember that I will share it with my grandson … he’s one. May God’s will flow through you, the United States and everyone who inhabits this Earth, whether I like them or not.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE WITH PEACE AND GRACE!!!
