Hinamatsuri (雛祭り) will be celebrated on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 28-March 1, at Tanaka Farms, 5380 3/4 University Dr., Irvine.
Hinamatsuri or Girls’ Day is a traditional Japanese celebration for the health and happiness of girls. The dolls are believed to bring protection and good fortune.
Hina dolls will be on display in partnership with the Japanese American National Museum, plus crafts and matcha. The schedule is as follows:
Feb. 28
9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Cultural presentation and crafts by JANM
March 1
9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Cultural presentation and crafts by JANM
11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Matcha Dachi — matcha samples and products
