Ryoko Rain, the fast-rising streetwear label that quickly gained and held a loyal following online, has finally opened their first storefront pop-up at The Irvine Spectrum Center, 839 Spectrum Center Dr., Irvine.

The doors opened on March 1 with an eager crowd already waiting to touch and feel the products in person. The Sunday night ended with a launch party that filled the store and beyond. Supporters, friends, family, customers, new and old, celebrated the opening weekend, and the crowds were a clear indication that this is more than clothes.

Garrett James, the founder and creative director of Ryoko Rain, expressed, “To bring a physical experience and a place to step foot inside the Ryoko Rain culture feels like a monument for our community, and getting to do it in Orange County feels like a homecoming.”

The road to this major milestone was paved with thousands of intentional steps. One foot in front of the other, Ryoko Rain built a following through high-profile collaborations and superstars, like the Anaheim Ducks, L.A. Clippers, L.A. Galaxy, Notre Dame and Teeling Whiskey, and NBA All Star, but at its core, Ryoko Rain represents the generations and the community.

Rooted in Japanese heritage, Ryoko Rain is centered around family and tradition. The distinctive butterfly dons the most famous of athletes and the most humble of neighbors. It’s shared between grandchildren and grandparents. Ryoko Rain is for everyone.

“That community is what this brand was always and will always be about,” reflects partner Justin Otsuka. He explains that opening a physical space is an opportunity for connection. Customers can finally experience the quality, the craft, and the storytelling behind each piece in person.

This Ryoko Rain location at The Irvine Spectrum Center is in the heart of Orange County. It was designed by James and built out by his brother, JJ Construction. The employees are close family and friends, and his daughters are often running around the space. It’s truly an immersive experience of everything the brand represents.

“It’s been a long time coming to give our customers a space where they can experience everything Ryoko Rain embodies in person,” he said. “This is just the first launch. And we’re not trying to stop here.”

The storefront is a strategic and symbolic evolution of the brand. Ryoko Rain is redefining what it means to make and sell clothes. People are following the meaning. We are following the story. We are following the community. This one is for all of us.
