One of many “No Kings” rallies protesting the Trump Administration’s policies was held on March 28 in Torrance, hosted by Indivisible South Bay L.A. and coalition partners. Hundreds of participants of all ages marched from El Prado Park and held a rally outside City Hall, with demonstrators waving signs on both sides of Torrance Boulevard. Many of those driving by honked or shouted in approval.
The AAPI contingent included Greater Los Angeles JACL, JACL youth members, Faith United Methodist Church, Save Our Seniors Network, and Little Tokyo Against Gentrification. Speakers included Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who has been mentioned as a potential presidential contender in 2028. Attendees included ABC talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and Rancho Palos Verdes Mayor Paul Seo, who is a candidate in the 66th Assembly District.
