Robert “Bob” Murakami, 81, passed away on April 4, 2026, at his residence in Monterey Park. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia; and brother, Steven. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Lisa Murakami; and niece, Kiley Murakami. He was a “Terminal Islander” at heart. Bob’s father, Noburo and their family owned two commercial fishing boats in Terminal Island. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, his family were relocated to Manzanar. Fishing was in Bob’s blood. He spent a lifetime fishing in Baja and all over the Southern California coast. He also loved golf and had a standing tee time at the Montebello Country Club with club manager and best friends, Tommy Camacho (12-15-23), Dave Rocha, Randy Mikuriya and Craig Tobita. Bob will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, generosity and love of sports, especially his USC Trojans. He will be missed by his friends/caregivers Alfredo, Josefina, Alex and Aaron Diaz. He leaves his beloved golden retriever, Willy and two cats, Rocky and Inky in their care. Bob’s wishes were that he and Patricia would be buried at sea.
