Paul Seo, a candidate for the 66th Assembly District seat, has been endorsed by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance), who currently represents the district.

“Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi has spent more than a decade fighting for the South Bay and delivering on the priorities that matter to our communities, from strong public schools and good jobs to safe neighborhoods and a clean environment,” Seo said.

“I’m deeply honored to have his trust and endorsement as I seek to carry that work forward. Al has built a legacy of dedicated service to the South Bay, and I look forward to building on that legacy and continuing to deliver for the communities we both call home.”

The November runoff election will be between Seo, mayor of Rancho Palos Verdes, and fellow Democrat Sara Deen, president of the Palos Verdes School Board, who were the top vote-getters in the June primary. The other candidates were Republican Jessica Zonia Maldonado, Republican George Banks, Democrat Scott Houston, and Democrat Shannon Ruiz-Ross.

Muratsuchi, who is termed out, did not make an endorsement during the primary.

The 66th Assembly District includes Torrance, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Gardena, Lomita, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Harbor City and Harbor Gateway.
