Mariko Kodaira, a longtime resident of Torrance, California, and a beloved sister, mother, auntie, and true beacon of joy and inspiration, peacefully journeyed home to her Savior and heavenly family on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the remarkable age of 100.
Mariko’s bright spirit and warm heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She is survived by her brother, Kazuo (Helene) Yakura; her children, Robert, Linda (Bill) Marks, and Susan; and a large, loving network of family and friends across both the United States and Japan. She now joins her husband, Nobuhide; her parents, Shoichi and Hisa; and her brother, Masao who preceded her in death.
In lieu of koden, and in keeping with her generous spirit, Mariko would have loved for you to pamper yourself, cherish your health, and spend quality time creating sweet memories with a loved one or friend.
