IRVINE — A 25-year veteran of the Orange County Fire Authority has been accused of stealing $40 from a co-worker’s wallet at its Irvine station, a police lieutenant said Monday.

OCFA Fire Station #38, located at 26 Parker in Irvine, where the incidents are alleged to have occurred.

Firefighter-paramedic Gregory Mark Konishi, 49, of Rancho Santa Margarita was arrested Nov. 8, Irvine police Lt. Julia Engen said.

The case has been sent to Orange County prosecutors, but a decision has not been made whether to file charges, said Farrah Emami of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Konishi was arrested on suspicion of burglary, Engen said.

Konishi was accused of taking a $20 bill from a fire captain’s wallet on two separate occasions, Engen said.
