Emiko Adachi (nee Oka), 92, passed away of natural causes on March 8, 2014 in Chicago. Beloved wife of George Toshio Adachi (deceased); mother of Christina, Patricia, Paul (deceased), John Adachi; grandmother of Maiko Emi Adachi, Aurora Adachi-Winter, Jamie, Tori, and Adam Adachi. Family members in California include cousins Minoru and Yutaka Tonai. Born in Los Angeles, she grew up on Terminal Island until she and her family were sent to Amache. She resettled in Chicago, where she met her husband and raised her family. Services will be held privately.
