Memorial services for the late Mr. Takashi “Tak” Morioka, a 96-year-old, Watsonville, Calif.-born Nisei resident of Monterey Park and former internee of Poston Relocation Camp who honorably served in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Service during WWII and a recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal who passed away on Feb. 3, 2014, will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 11 a.m. at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden” 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012 officiated by Rev. Sharon Koh of Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles.
Mr. Morioka was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 59 years, Tsumuko “Sue” Morioka. Devoted father of Richard John (Linda) Morioka; proud grandfather of Dallas Kai Morioka; brother of Grace Fusako Homma of Illinois. Also survived by many other relatives.
