
Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 S. Central Ave. (at Third Street) in Little Tokyo, will hold its Arigato Bazaar on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with public ondo dancing beginning at 4 p.m.
Free entertainment will include dance, musical and taiko performances and karate demonstrations. Art, photo and ikebana displays will be on view inside the church. For children, there will be a craft tent and games with prizes.
On the menu are teriyaki chicken, beef bowl, udon, sushi, manju, char siu bao, Haute Dogs, and shave ice. Baked goods, fresh produce, plants, flowers, handcrafted items and more will be on sale.
For the third year, the public is invited to participate in the odori/ondo, which will include Japanese dances associated with the summer festival season. A new 15-foot yagura will tower over the dance circle.
In addition to raffle prizes, visitors can win $500 through the Early Bird Opportunity Drawing or $1,000 through the Grand Prize Opportunity Drawing. During intermission for the odori/ondo, a drawing will be held for a 40-inch Sony Bravia LCD HDTV. Winner must be present.
Parking will be available at the 420 E. Third St. Medical Building. The entrance to the lot is on Boyd Street. Shuttle service will operate between the church and the parking lot.
