Funeral services for the late Atsushi Sasaki, a 71-year-old Newell, Calif.-born longtime resident of Rosemead and former internee of Tule Lake Relocation Camp who peacefully passed away on June 27, 2014, will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. First St., Los Angeles, CA 90012. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted.
Mr. Sasaki was predeceased by his son, Shinjiro, and his daughter, Miyeko Sasaki.
Beloved father of Atsumi (Michael) Samiano, Michi (Matthew) Chavez, Taizo Sasaki and Kanomi (Fred) Capela); proud and devoted grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 1; loving sibling of Tsuyu Liebowitz and Sumi (Dennis) Imamura of Hawaii. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives both here and in Hawaii.
