Saturday, Curve Line Space gallery in Eagle Rock will debut a new exhibit by artist Miki Yokoyama.
“My Universe” is a collection of Yokoyama’s pen and ink work, with each drawing representing an expression of existence in its countless forms and its endless flow of creation, destruction and transformation.
“Almost all of my work is done without any sketching or planning,” wrote Yokoyama, who has had little formal art training and draws inspiration from no artist or movement in particular.
“I put my pen to the canvas and let my hands move as they will. When I draw, I am empty, without intent or internal obstruction,” she said.
“My Universe” will have its premiere Saturday and runs through Oct. 4. Curve Line Space is located at 1577 Colorado Blvd. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
