GARDENA — On Sunday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. the Gardena Pioneer Project will present an educational seminar, “The Affordable Care Act in 2015: An Update on Obamacare,” at the Ken Nakaoka Community Center, 1700 W. 162nd St. in Gardena.

Eddie Kamiya, president of Kamiya Insurance Agency, who provided an informational seminar last year when the newly enacted Affordable Care Act was about to take effect, will provide a brief history of the act and explain how it will affect you in 2015.

He will discuss the changes made to the act this year that will take impact medical insurance and Medicare in 2015, and will address questions such as: “Do I need to change my insurance for 2015 and how do I do it?” “Will I have to pay a tax penalty for 2015 and how much will it be?” “How will my Medicare be affected in 2015 and what should I do?”

This will be an informational seminar only; there will be no sales presentations. The seminar is open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Admission is free and no reservations are required. Translation will be provided for the Japanese-speaking. Kamiya will be available to answer individual questions for a limited time at the end of the program.
