Mary Karatsu - Rafu Shimpo

Funeral services for the late Mary Karatsu, 94-year-old, California-born, resident of Los Angeles, who passed away on May 17, 2018, will be held on Friday, June 1, 11 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 S. Central Ave. in Los Angeles.

Predeceased by her husband, George Y. Karatsu; she is survived by her daughter, Karen Karatsu Kennedy; sons, Robert (Vinita) and Wayne Karatsu; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sachi Kaneshiro and Dorothy Kuwaye; brother, Paul (Kay) Tamaki; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of koden, the family would like you to consider a donation be made in Mary’s memory to the Japanese American National Museum, 100 N. Central Ave., L.A., CA 90012, and/or the Go For Broke National Education Center, 355 E. 1st St. Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
