Terumi “Terrie” Hashimoto, 88, born in Los Angeles, passed away on Oct. 28, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of the South Bay except for her time in a Japanese internment camp at Rohwer, Arkansas during World War II. She was a member of The Crusaders, who wrote letters of encouragement and support to the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Her family returned to California, where she graduated from Torrance High School. Terrie retired from Standard Homeopathic Company after being employed there for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, word games, and her dog Chew Chew. Terrie is predeceased by her husband, Dixon, and five siblings. She is survived by her daughter Debbie Kato, brother Thomas Sabu Hirata, sister Frances Kushi, nieces Wendy Hirata and Lynne Hansford, and other relatives.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Pacific Crest Cemetery, 2701 182nd Street, Redondo Beach, Calif.
