Miyoko Shimahara
Miyoko Shimahara was born nearly a century ago in the Pacific Northwest. Her greatest gift was an operatic voice and her greatest joy was singing in the church choir. She was a generous patron of many Japanese community and church projects including the expansion projects, Japanese language programs and the Cherry Blossom Festival at Stoner Park. She peacefully passed away in mid-April, predeceased by her beloved daughter and husband. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; brothers; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Graveside and interment service was held at Woodlawn Cemetery on May 15, 2021, Rev. Becky Hirata officiating.
