Members of XG pause for a photo with Dodgers star Roki Sasaki after the group had the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch on May 31.
On May 31, seven-member Japanese girl group XG was invited to Dodger Stadium for a game against the Phillies, where they had the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game. Group leader Jurin tossed a pitch to Dodger starter Roki Sasaki, who served as the catcher, igniting excitement among fans throughout the stadium.
The members of XG took the field clad in custom jerseys featuring their own names alongside the jersey numbers of key players such as Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Sasaki, Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts.
Stepping onto the mound, Jurin delivered a full-force pitch aimed at the glove held ready by Sasaki. Although the ball bounced once before reaching its target, the throw drew a massive roar rom the stands.
Following the ceremony, the members posed for commemorative photos with Sasaki and also enjoyed a friendly chat with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who was celebrating his 54th birthday that very day.

Jurin shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I’m a bit nervous about pitching in such a massive venue here Dodger Stadium, but I want to have fun and give it our all together.”
XG debuted in 2022 and has been active on a global scale, including a performance last year at the Coachella music festival in Southern California.
Although all of its members are Japanese, the group produces all of its songs entirely in English.
Currently on their second world tour, XG’s Los Angeles performance is scheduled for Nov. 5 at Crypto. com Arena.
