A memorial service for the late Mr. Henry Kazuo Fukuhara, a 96-year-old, Calif.-born Nisei resident of Brea who passed away on Jan. 31 will be held on Sunday, Feb. 7, 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica, 1220 2nd St., Santa Monica.
The Fukuhara Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Henry Kazuo Fukuhara to the Japanese American National Museum, 100 N. Central Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012, or to the East Los Angeles College Foundation (Fukuhara Endowment), 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez, Monterey Park, CA 91754.
Mr. Fukuhara is survived by his wife, Fujiko Fukuhara; children, Joyce (Timothy)Bowersox of New York, Grace (Ujinobu) Niwa, and Rackham and Helen Fukuhara; grandchildren, Paul (Grace) Niwa of Massachusetts, Linda (Jasen) Thorpe of Pennsylvania, and Brian and Matthew Fukuhara; three grandchildren; siblings, Frank (Ihoko) Fukuhara, Tomiko Matsunaga, Jimmy Fukuhara, George (Masako) Fukuhara, Lily (George) Takayama of New Jersey, and William (Hiroko) Fukuhara. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
