Private family service for the late James Kanou Fujihara, 87-year-old, Honolulu-born Nisei veteran, resident of Gardena, who passed away peacefully on Dec. 17, were held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden” with Rev. William Briones of Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Chizuko Fujihara; son, Darryl (Cassandra) Fujihara; daughter, Carole (Bruce) Chew; grandchildren, Chase and Paige Fujihara, Allison and Reanna Chew; sisters, Mildred Tashiro and Agnes Matsuura, both of Hawaii; brother, Kenneth Fujihara; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Hawaii.
