Yoneko Imaizumi Kiyomura passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016. She was born in January 1923 in Tulare, California, to Eiji and Mito Imaizumi. During World War II, her family was interned at Santa Anita Race Track and subsequently relocated to the Utah-Idaho area. After the war, she returned to California, where she married Shigeru Kiyomura and had one son, Robert. She worked for the State of California and after retirement, she and Shig enjoyed extensive travel, both domestic and foreign.
Yoneko and Shig moved to Utah in 2009 to be near their son, who became their primary caregiver over the years. Shig passed away in December 2014. Yoneko was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son in Utah, sister Marjorie in San Francisco, and cousin Hiroko in Vacaville. She has nieces and nephews in Utah, California and Texas.
Funeral services were held in Utah. A 49th Day Service will be held in Las Vegas in October.
