After kicking off the 2025 season with a pair of victories in Japan, the Dodgers returned home last week for their first homestand of the year.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto took the ball for the start on March 28, flashing some of the form that made him so important to the Dodgers’ championship run last fall. The right-hander struck out 10 Tigers but had a no-decision in the 8-5 walk-off win in 10 innings.
The following night, phenom Roki Sasaki was shaky in his Dodger Stadium debut, lasting only 1-2/3 innings after giving up two runs, but pitched sufficiently to keep his team close enough for them to rally for a 7-3 win. Kenta Maeda started on the mound for the Tigers, giving up two runs in two innings.

On Tuesday this week, the Dodgers made it seven straight wins to begin the season with a 3-1 comeback victory over the Atlanta Braves. As The Rafu went to press on Wednesday, they were hosting Atlanta and trying to extend their streak to open a season to 8-0, the longest since moving to Los Angeles in 1958.
